Hi, I'm terrible with basic maintenance, I drive em till they break.
Found this thing hanging in the front left( driver side) looks like an air intake, big hose connection to the air filter in the engine. Probably from hitting a parking curb it has cracked the housing, I can still connect it..should I get a new one, dont know what it's called.

[If I knew how to get a pic posted I would. It's a white plastic housing with a black plastic cover on it. Connected to a black hose connected to air cleaner.

Thoughts??

Thanks
Hef

Really need a picture. The only white plastic housing I can think of off the top of my head in the GXP engine bay is the brake resevoir.

Here is a pic of the fixed part under the engine looking up, drivers side near the front of car. That center hole is connected to a large diameter black hose that goes to the top of the engine into the air intake of the filter housing.

That first photo is looking up from under the engine drivers side near the front. That center hole connects to a black hose going to the Air Filter housing in the top of engine compartment.

This next photo is the white plastic piece that snaps onto that first image plastic. It will still snap on, but the housing for it is all cracked up. I really want to know what the value of this thing is, and what it's called.

That is the air inlet for the Secondary A.I.R. Injection system.

The system injects air in to the exhaust stream to reduce emissions on cold start up and runs until closed loop operation is achieved, then shuts off.

If it isn't working, you will most likely get a P0410 code if their is no airflow in the system. P0412 and P0418 could come up if the solenoid relay and pump relay aren't functioning.
