I had to do a few planned repairs and one huge unplanned one, but the result is a pretty solid truck.
To start with the original LTZ air suspension was shot and the compressor burned up, I would up buying Moog heavy duty coil springs and Monroe reflexes for the rear. The front struts seemed fine but the truck now had a pretty massive rake due to the rear sitting a little higher than stock, it was also due for tires. I wanted to go a little taller than the factory 275/55/20 and get a more all terrain look so I got a set of Pirelli scorpion all terrain plus tires in a 275/60/20 which gave me a 33 inch tire. I also had the shop install a leveling kit to raise the front 2 inches.
Needless to say I was pretty thrilled with how it looked, then 2 days after I got the tires on something terrible happened. The number one cylinder collapsed one of the lifters, it turns out this is extremely common in displacement on demand motors. Once the shop got it opened up it became apparent that the truck would need a camshaft as well. At that point I decided to have a full delete kit installed removing all DOD components and tuning it out of the computer so it would never have a failure of that sort again.
So now 3 weeks and a big chunk of cash later, here is the truck in all its Glory.
