Door lights and DIC

Post by Benvw99 »

Im having this problem where sometimes the car doesnt recognize that a door has been opened. The lights will stay off and the DIC doesnt say anything. The next day everything will work fine. It seems to happen most with the passenger side doors, but all of them have done it before. Do they all have failing switches? They all have working power windows and locks. It just doesnt recognize that a door has been opened.

Hi, you can open the door and look at the latch on door - unlocked, it should slide all the way open to receive the pin when you close the door and lock.
move the latch and see if it registers on the dic - and you should get a chime with key in ignition. - you can clean latch with wd40 and regrease if its not moving smoothly.
if you do close the latch, you just open the door by the handle and it will release and you move the latch by hand.
