I am planning on adding an aux transmission cooler along with a remote oil thermostat, and an aux filter. All that inline with the stock cooler/radiator.
Adding all that will add considerable length to the cooler circuit. I was also considering going up to -8an oil lines from 6 if there is any benefit to larger lines.
Will this have any affect on the transmissions shifting or anything else on the 4T65e?
Thanks
Any undesired effects with a transmission cooler?

I block my cooler in the winter time so that I can use over drive a little quicker. The transmission won't go into overdrive or lock up the torque converter until it reaches over 80 degrees.
I don't use anything fancy by the way... haha. Just a black piece of cardboard.

Re: Any undesired effects with a transmission cooler?
I was going to use an oil by pass thermostat. The one I want has 4 ports, would flow oil to the aux cooler at 165F. I would have the stock radiator in series with the aux cooler because it helps warm the fluid.
I ask about shifting because I read on a forum on a different model rwd type tranny that larger line made it shift weaker. Idk if that happens on the 4t65e or if adding all this equipment can have any other undesired effects due to added resistance of flow in the circuit.
A few people have added coolers on this forum and I remember one person that added a filter and larger line . I never heard any complaints so maybe it's fine..

Yeah, I wouldn't upsize the lines any more than you have to. Just adding the cooler will be plenty of cooling, you don't need to try and push too much through it. Unless you're doing performance driving events, you will barely even need the cooler.
Bye Bye:
