2000 lesabre ,,tranny seems to slip a second when taking off

2000 lesabre ,,tranny seems to slip a second when taking off

Ive noticed this a few times....if sitting idling when warm n park, then put into gear, you feel it go into gear, step normal on the gas and it seems to start to move a little then a bang and it takes off...
Car has almost 200k,,,,just using as a winter rat....would a can of Lubegard Red help ??

My car has the same issue. It comes and goes. It's called delayed engagement. You can read more about it here.

It's called "slide bang" caused by the heavy spring in the forward band cap that retains the spring. There IS a lighter replacement spring for it and it's about $10. Also recommend the superior shift kit along with the AFL valve replacement. Those will clear up A LOT of issues. I have built these transmissions.
