Loud Chirping/Squeaking Noise

Post by stephenssei »

Hey guys! So recently my car has come down with some kind loud chirping/squeaking noise, and it honestly sounds like a mouse going round n round on it's wheel and it is quite annoying.

I was checking around and trying to search for the source of the noise and it seems to be coming from something Steering related. I checked my power steering fluid because it was honestly the only thing I could think of looking at and it's perfect.

If anyone has any suggestions or have had this happen before, I would love some help!

Thanks, and happy holidays guys!

The belt could just be due for a change.
You can listen better with a piece of pvc pipe or other tubing to pinpoint the source--or buy a mechanic's stethoscope if you want to get fancy.
Otherwise, with the belt removed, turn pulleys by hand, feeling for any roughness or excessive play.
Sometimes the A/C clutch loses flexibility and starts making noise only while the A/C or defroster is off.
