what is this broken piece of plastic?

found this in the "gutter" of my sunroof after investigating wet carpets. sunroof drops down when I close it and if have to push it up to seal. read the fix about the torx bits but I don't think that's it since some piece is broken. what piece is this from?

I got different looking screens when I went there but I think pic will still work. while I have your attention maybe you can help haro. had three messages service stability, trac, abs. autozone scanned and said all wheel hubs coming up bad. changed all four and now only the stability message comes up but my trac control is still off. does the stability problem disable trac and abs? don't think they told me anything about a sterring position sensor on the codes but I read one of your posts saying that would fix it.

I know Bonnevilles very well, I've never see anything even close to that piece you posted.

If you are only getting a Service Stability System with no other lights, its probably the steering position sensor. Scan it again to be sure.

didn't get a wheel position sensor code. here are the left over codes after four wheel bearings. c1248 ebcm turned the red brake warning indicator on. C1241 variable effort steering circuit malfunction. c1233 right front wheel speed sensor open or shorted.

actually I think the first code was c1248 for the ebcm red brake warning indiactor.

oh and a low tire pressure detected code.

C1233 - you probably have a problem with the wiring at the RF wheel
C1241 - there is a problem with the solenoid or the wiring to it in your Magnasteer rack
c1248 - this is just a dummy code, saying there is another error in the system (see above) and it turned on the BRAKE light.

cant find solenoid on rockauto. is it the kind of thing where you need a new rack?

if I fix the wiring problem on the rf will my trac and abs come back or does the stability problem also turn off those systems? have you had any cars in where you can tell that they have a recently replaced magnasteer rack? would like a used one if close to new.

Its likely that you'll have to repair both issues to get your Trac and ABS lights off.

A used rack would be fine, but you better be sure its good before wasting your time and money on new tie rod ends and an alignment.
