Anyone want to take a guess (EXCEPT ANDREW)?

He's exempt because he already knows all about it
If someone guesses correctly, I'll talk about my next mod now. Otherwise, I likely won't reveal it until next spring since the car is going into storage next week and I won't have a chance to complete it before then.
This is one of a few parts that I had custom engineered and 3D printed.

I'm thinking that part is for something inside the door panels? Not really sure.

No, not part of a door or door panel. Also not part of a backup assist system. Interesting thoughts though.

Closer. Center console has something to do with it, but nothing USB.

You are 100% correct!
This part will be bonded to the side of the cupholder. The square holes are mounting locations for LED assemblies from other various GM vehicles used for illumination. The tab is a mounting location for a connector so that it can be unplugged from the center console wiring harness and removed from the car.

Pontiac red, of course
There's a little more to this mod project than just the illumination, but I'm going to wait to reveal anything else until it's a further along. It also involves more specially engineered and 3D printed parts. I have them, but I want to do some assembly and finishing.
More to come over the winter

I actually thought about that, but if you knew how much this mod has cost me, you'd understand why I didn't do that, too lol!
