Plastic engine cover

Post by unclebubbaSE »

I've noticed a lot of image posts on this site of various engine bays with the engine cover removed. Is this removal in some way an advantage of some sort (better engine cooling, etc..) or just a purely aesthetic thing?...just curious.

Thanks!.

the Engine Cover is for mainly looks. If you notice on the underside of the cover is a insulation, im sure in the cold winter months this would help insulate the engine with some warmth, but most people Remove the Cover and leave it off.

The New GM Recall for the Grand Prix fires instructs the GM Tech, when doing the recall to Remove the Engine cover and throw it in the garbage.
