Ok I put new quick struts on my 2000 Lesabre,,,I now notice the front end is sitting much higher than it should...it has been 3 or more months,,,still high....I see grease around he boot but NO tears or rips...
Now when going up a hill or low speed under load the front of the car seems to shake back and forth,,,never did this and started right after chg the struts....is it possible the angle that these 170k mile axles are now so much different this is the cause of the shake ??
Is there anyway to get the frontend back down

grease around the axle boot? if so, it may be the cv joint. I used monroe quick struts and the height is a little higher, after about 1 yr it lowers to normal. the slight height change should not cause any vibration. if the installation/mount is incorrect it may cause vibration. I would check the installation and then start troubleshooting the axle. if you did not get a wheel alignment, you should after struts.

one thing you might want to check also is on the new struts where the big bolts go through. Check and see if the bottom one has been slotted or machined and has lots room for adjustment. if you didn't get them back in place to where they were on the old ones your tires might way out. the original struts don't have that extra "adjustment" at least the ones I took off didn't. When I changed mine I took note of where the bolt was on the old struts and used alittle bottle jack under the rotor and lifted it as close as possible to where it was and torqued it in place and all seems fine. also as for the height thing I guess that's one of the knocks with quick struts is they lift the front end up everybody says they will settle in time so I just am going with that

Yea everything is installed correctly,,lower hole isn't slotted,,even if it was you would need both holes slotted to adjust up or down,,its the cheapo struts,,spring are heavier and more of them,,,putting too much angle on the cv essp. when under excelleration

sounds good the ones I used had the bottom hole slotted on the strut and the top one wasn't it was more of a pivot for the bottom. I had a lot of room for adjustment to set the camber.

AC Delco or KYB will leave the height pretty much around stock once they settle. You will need spring compressors as those shocks do not come loaded. Also need to buy shock mounts. Go with AC Delco or Moog for the mounts and avoid KYB.

any quick strut you buy will act the same you just purchased. most owners here dont like the quick struts because of the height change. i was in the same boat as you probably. didnt want to mess with the springs. its really not that bad to disassemble the originals and swap in the new struts. i did the kyb's and i love them

Yes, any quick strut will cause the ride height issue. If you don't want to mess with the spring compressors, a local shop might be able to swap the springs on for you for a small fee.

Yep, I had the same exact issue. I think they just put the heavy springs on the QS incase you have the V8 Bonneville and that will make you V6 sit higher and cause the vibration you are having.

I used Monroe Quick-Struts twice on the '92 SSE I had and did not notice a change in ride height on the front. The rear did go up though when I replaced the rear springs, even though the springs were claimed to be "same as OEM". - BC

As far as I know, the quick strut stuff applies only to the 2000+ models.

I have seen a lot of complaints about the front sitting higher after a Monroe Quick Strut job on the 2000+ H-bodies. What I wonder is, do all these guys also have blown out rear shocks (and/or bad compressor for ELC versions) that they're not concurrently changing?
I put the Monroe QS's on my 2004 LeSabre recently...yes the front is now 2" or 3" higher than before...but I also replaced the rear air shocks and whaddya know, the rear is 2" or 3" higher than it used to be also!
