2000 SSEI - headlights & tail lights stay on: warning chime

Have a problem that I haven't been able to sort.

Got a 2000 Bonneville SSEI, no mods.

No codes.

Had to change out the CPS last weekend and when I got everything put back together, the headlights stay on and the headlights on warning chime is constantly alerting.

Also changed out the ICM.

I've turned the headlight delay off and yet the headlights stay on.

They only turn off after 10 minutes because of the built in battery saver function.

The tail lights are also on.

Can't seem to find the problem.

Just got a new battery today.

Need to get this resolved because we are down a car.

Any thoughts or idea would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bret

I'd first double-check to see if they were accidentally turned on at the switch on the end of the column "stalk" that it shares with cruise control .

The lights are automatic. They are turned on by the twilight sentinel I guess.

The driving lights are on all the time.

I changed the sensor out, but now I think it may be the relays.

The low beams and the tail lights are on all the time until the 10 minute battery saver turns them off.

Not really sure what to check next.

Thanks for your input.

Anyone else have any ideas?

:withstupid: check the stalk sometimes the easiest thing can be overlooked YES our headlights are automatic but we still have a Manuel function on the left side stalk by the steering wheel I'm guessing in case of twilight failure usually you only get the chime when the stalk has been accidentally turned.

Well, I never turned it but I guess one of my other 3 drivers inadvertently did.

Never noticed it.

:spanka:

Thanks so much for your help.

I figured it was something much more complicated.

Definitely better than spending a lot of money chasing down something that wasn't broken.

Thanks for your patience with me.

You guys are gems!!!
