Hello y'all! I've recently became the owner of a cherry babied-by-a-grandma 99 bonneville se. I've been a gm guy ever since I can remember and have been wrenchin' ever since I could walk lol. Current project car is a 79 chevette that's gettin back halved/ladder bars complete floorpan rebuild and a freshened up 4.3 I have laying around. I've always prefered big ol land yachts for daily driving and the bonnie fits the bill perfectly! However, I haven't any hands on experience with the 4t65e tranny and I'll be changing the pcs in mine soon. I'd like to talk to someone who is familiar with it. Thanks guys!

Welcome to the site! There may be a few members who have rebuilt their transmissions while others get them professionally beefed up. All depends on if your going to mod or just keep it running smooth.

I just want it to work the way it's supposed to. Nice and smooth! It is driven easy so no real need for performance mods. I was wondering what I should go ahead and replace since I'll have the side cover off the tranny to get to the pcs. Or some helpful advice that may save a headache or two.

Also, a TransGo shift kit is much easier to install than a PCS is to replace, and will fix the rough shifting issue. Just gotta drop the bottom pan and install.

I've been looking into that. Will it still throw the code for high line pressure ?

No, since the code is only thrown when the transmission detects long shifts. The shift kit doesn't allow for that.

I installed my kit at ~60k miles and haven't hard shifting issues since.

Sounds like that's what I'll be doin then way easier to drop the pan than drop the cradle thanks for the advice y'all
