I've done this to my 04 Bonne SE. Yes there is a thread on this. Parts list is short. Basically, purchase a string of LED lights(appropriate length). You need to remove the reflector, cut back of it open close to top and glue in the LED strip on top. (It is a bit of a bear to remove that reflector because of the hidden clips which hold it to trunk lid). I used good quality silicone. You then need to seal that cut up so no moisture can enter. I let it set up for 24 hours before reattaching. I connected the Led wires to tail light harness which runs along passenger side inside trunk lid. I had actually posted some pictures of what I did, but the info is on my previous computer.

2003 SSEi did this to his car. I believe the write-up was on another forum though. LED's came from a Cadillac Catera (late 90's if I recall correctly).

Do search under centre taillight mod. That's where I posted some pics & basic info. June 25, 2012 Page 9.

Any LED strips will work, and be cheaper than the Catera 3rd brake light. Just gotta get something that's not going to die after a week...

I have no experience buying LED strips. I'd look for somewhere that has reviews, and reviews that are good...

I bought them online off an ebay search. Also can be purchased from Oznium.com I believe it is. I mention this in the posts on page 9 June 25, 2012 referenced in the earlier post. The length of LED strip needs to be 38 inches with 96 LED's. This perfectly spans the length of the reflector once installed. Also when lighting up a red reflector remember that you need to purchase red LED's for maximum light. White LED's will not work well. Make very sure that you seal the cut of the reflector back and the hole where the led harness exits the reflector to prevent dust or moisture from entering. I learned the hard way as I had to redo same. I considered adding a second strip to work off the brake lights but never did that.
