What kind of infernal goo does one use to glue the trunk seal down? Not sure what factory used, local leak detector guy used silicone, I tried 3M weatherstrip adhesive black. None seem to get quite the bite I am looking for.

Sadly, I am selling the Browneville. 123K miles and I found a Subaru Outback that will hold my surfboards, all but one of which will not fit in the Bonne. Whilst making the sale, I discovered that the spare well was full of H2O. I suspect the trunk seal as the culprit. I have thought of using water based markers to make sure. Prospective buyer is taking delivery tomorrow, but I'd really like to have this taken care of before I send 'er off.

Are you sure it is the trunk seal? In any case, I'd try silicone again, some high quality architecture grade stuff if possible.

Ive always used the 3M yellow.

I fought with the leak in the trunk of my Bonne when I first got it too. If I remember right mine was coming in one of the mounting bolts of the tail lights. It most definitely was not the trunk seal but yours may be.

Well folks, she's gone to serve yet another master. Someone will be getting a good Christmas gift. FWIW, the 3M glue worked, I was impatient waiting for it to cure. I went out the next AM, and the weatherseal would not budge. I found a wing mount bolt that turned about a 1/4 turn and had rust on the washer, hopefully that and the trunk seal will solve the issue. New owner is thinking about installing self bilge holes with screens. Not sure, sounds like a good way to get CO in the cabin with the SLE exhaust tips just a few feet away. Could also be rear reflector upper clips. I had pulled the reflector, and managed to salvage the clips, but also provided a bag full (7) of them from an Alero to the new owner. I used 3M mounting tape in place of the gasket to ensure if the clip did not grab, the 3M did.

UPDATEFound leak, I dried out the trunk and it rained buckets here yesterday. Met new owner today to transfer the service manual and found the leak in the rear quarter/rear clip seam midway down the trunk lip on the passenger side.

Thank you to all the help I have received from this forum, I'll keep checking in as I am still working on a rear reflector permaseal solution. I think I might be onto something and will keep y'all posted.
