New toy - 2016 Wrangler Unlimited Black Bear

Post by BBamm »

Sooo... I'm selling the GXP because I don't have room to store it. It's not a good car to drive around in a Michigan winter anyway. (This winter hasn't really been much of a winter though, I guess. Knock on wood)

I picked myself up a year-round toy this time. It's a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (JKU) Black Bear edition. It came with factory rock-rails, tail-light guards, and a black grill with clear running lights. I was able to find one with the upgraded "max" trailer-tow package and the uconnect phone integration without the touch screen. I didn't want to risk having a screen stolen if I had the top off but I still wanted to be able to stream music, receive texts and calls from the radio.

I wanted to get one with black fenders and top because I plan to take it off-road and they WILL get scratched. I wound up settling for one with a color-matched top, it looks better (I've always liked that look), I'm just fearful of scratching it. With a total of 17 miles on it, I dropped it off for all 10 windows to be tinted and ordered a set of JW Speaker LED headlights and fog lights. Next on the list is a stubby bumper w/stinger, winch, fastback soft-top and tube fenders. I won't be lifting it until I've wasted the Goodyear's that it came with.

So, without further ado, here's the new ride.

With the Freedom Top removed it's still dark enough tint for me :glasses7:

This is the first one I test drove. It had too many graphics on it and the painted fenders.

My little guy LOVES it!!! He was "so 'cited" to see it!

...and it only takes 20 sec to remove the door (even with pw, pl, pm)...

Good times are sure to be had in this thing!!

Sweet! My buddy just got a 2-door version. They've gotten much nicer in recent years.

That is a tough looking Jeep, and looks well specced out.

Oh it will, my brother just sent me a leveling kit for now, as soon as the tires get a little warn, it'll get taller.

Yeah, my brother in law has an 07, my interior is much nicer. I had the front half of the top off last week and it was awesome!! They're well appointed for being such a rugged ride...
