hello! I have a 2005 Pontiac bonneville gxp and am thinking about a muffler delete. I'm looking for input on any pros or cons involved with doing this! Or if any of you have maybe sounds clips and the process you went through to do it.
Anything will be greatly appreciated!
Keep these amazing cars alive thanks!

It will be loud and a bit raspy. You will want some sort of mufflers on there. OHC motors are a bit raspy sounding motors. How loud are you looking for? Whats your budget?

I went on the internet, and I found this:

Your mileage may vary, but admittedly it's not sounding like the worst idea that has been aired on this board...

Definitely won't sound bad, because Northstar, but it will be loud.

Just put better sounding mufflers on. I did Magnaflow's.
I don't get the concept of being loud just for the sake of being loud, especially if you're not packing the power to back it up.

That's why I'm looking for muffler delete I don't have much cash to spare. Under 500 dollars ideally. You guys think it'll still have a good tone? I'm looking for it to be loud but not unbearably loud that will get me a ticket. I'm not worried about mileage are there any bolt on sets out there to do something like this?
Thanks!

Well, prices have come down a bit since I did them (some 8 - 9 years ago).
Magnaflow 12225 mufflers on Amazon = $87. x2 = $174
Magnaflow 35121 tips anywhere = $66. x2 = $132
Total parts $306. This does not include the stainless steel plumbing I grabbed at the shop and bent. Also, there are other choices for tips that would be cheaper, cutting your costs even more. I just happen to like that tip (it's also what I have on the Caddy).
Add labor and you're probably going to be around $400 - $500. This sounds MUCH better than just lobbing off mufflers. Lobbing off mufflers sounds exactly like that... That you're mufflers are shot and you have holes in your exhaust. If you were running around with a built, camming, high compression stud of a motor, different story. But a 275hp LD8 Northstar not meant to sound like a NASCAR Grand National spec motor, it sounds like a$$ and you'll tire of it quickly. But that is my $.02. Other opinions and viewpoints will vary.
