engine stalls in reverse

having stalling issues...still no idea, please help!
2004 SE 114,500mi. After engine reaches operating temp, more often than not, engine will stall after I shift into reverse, then will restart with no problem. It seems much more prominent after driving at freeway speeds, then shifting into reverse to park vehicle for example. Will never happen after starting car when cold or backing out of lot after sitting. If I remember to "feather" the throttle a little keeping the revs up before shifting, it will seem ok. I've heard possible crank sensor issue?...no engine or warning lights are present.

HI, JUST FOR GIGGLES, TRY UNPLUGGING THE MAF on top of throttebody and see if condition changes.

Thanks, I may try that...drove approx. 12 mi. today to store, and before shifting into reverse from drive I left it in neutral a couple of seconds...engine did not stall. Noticed when I did shift into neutral before reverse, the engine revs seemed to pick up a little.

Thats normal, you're taking the load off engine. My '78 Phoenix would stall all the time if I shifted it into gear before it warmed up. Now that was a carbureted 305 lol. What are your RPMs in neutral?

I'll check the rpm's next time when in neutral...but I do notice on the rare occasion when I shift into reverse 'normally' and it does NOT stall, the engine idle speed will seem to stumble the pick back up.

It wouldn't hurt to remove and clean the MAF sensor with the appropriate spray cleaner and see what happens, may even help my mileage as well...

Could be a few things MAP sensor getting unsynced data the TPS could be bad causing the MAP to act goofy If the MAF is acting intermittent will do the same thing. When I was having a stalling issue it was just a cracked hose that connected to the throttlebody below the TPS and it kept telling me I was having a bad mass air flow and TPS well that wasn't the issue it was just a cracked hose the reason why it was telling me that is because the map sensor was getting a different manifold absolute pressure reading that what it was suppose to which was throwing off the TPS and mass airflow because The PCM was trying to calibrate and keep them in range
