03 ssei oil pressure fluctuating low to 0 when warm
Hey I'm new here and I've been trying to troubleshoot this issue all day. The other day I was driving for about an hour when OP began to fluctuate lower than normal and would occasionally drop to 0 and stay for a few seconds. There wasn't any knocking or odd noises and there was plenty of oil in it when I checked. Also when I checked I didn't notice any metal flakes. I let it sit for a couple hours and when I started it pressure was fine at idle for about 30 seconds and I shut it off. Could it just be sensor or am I screwed? Usually when I hear sensor problems they peg at 120 when they fail so I'm a bit lost.

While they normally fail by pegging at 120, I have seen them fail both ways. I would replace the sensor, its a cheap and easy fix.

Right on. If it was failing though would it fluctuate or just go from one extreme to another. And any idea if the car being warm affects it? Really appreciate any input

Yes they sometimes fluctuate when they fail. Being warm affecting it? I'm not sure.

I have the same problem with my 98. I replaced the sensor but it still happens time to time
