My 1998 Olds LSS

Well...not much to look at, but here it is. I still don't know what I am going to do about the exterior. The paint on the trunk is completely dead (almost looks like a primer) and the hood is not far behind. Under the fuel door, the paint is chipping. A few dents here and there, but really decent for the age. I have been tempted to go the Plasti-dip route, but I don't know. I am looking out for some of the early Bonneville crosslace wheels. I have always liked those, but still undecided. Sorry for the smudges on some of these...I didn't notice until I uploaded them and I am too lazy to go back out there in the heat.

The interior is really nice for the age, I just need to do some better detailing.

I told myself I would not modify the car until I fixed the air conditioning (blows cold, but the blend door is messed up) and got tires or tires/wheels depending on my decision. Well, I haven't gone extreme, but the car does have an Intense intake, PLOG, ZZP modular - 3.6 pulley on now, 3.4 in the garage, colder plugs and a 180* thermostat. I just recently did the upgraded manifold gaskets/valve cover gaskets/coolant elbows/plugs/etc. Car pulls strong and I have been getting over 20 mpg in the city.

Any comments (good or bad) are welcome!

A lot better than I expected after the way you described it, just too bad that Torreador red is failing, I think it's the nicest color these cars got.

Just noticed, de-badged AND a tow hitch, hmmmm.

Looks good, I liked my 94' when I had it, although I had bench seats. Are those seats as comfy as they look?

Nice ride. I like the maroon with the dark grey leather. Looks sharp!

Looks very nice. The engine bay looks clean too - a lot cleaner than mine, certainly!

I would think it a great sleeper, and comfy to cruise down the InterState too. - BC

Thanks for the comments! Yeah, the seats were probably what I was most excited about. Considering the previous owner certainly neglected the car in many ways, I was surprised the seats cleaned up as nice as they did. And yes, they are so comfortable.

The car is by no mean fast. But, it is much faster than it looks like it should be. Just the way I like it.

That's a lot of the appeal of an LSS in my opinion. They are a lot more discreet and understated in the way they look than a Bonneville SSEi. It doesn't have all the cladding and bodykit, and the big front lamps in the bumper that make the Bonneville scream 'look at me, I'm a sports sedan!'.

Does this car have a tune?

No tune, yet. The only company that seemed interested in doing a canned tune for my car was ZZP. And I have heard mixed reviews about those. There aren't many shops around here that I would trust.

I have only put about 500 miles on the mods and haven't beat on it, at all. I have the Torque app and Bluetooth adapter, just haven't had the time to mess with it.

I have a 99 Neon that I drive daily.

Not sure about the Canned tunes from ZZP either.. But if anyone alters anything in your tune, first thing would be to dumb down the Torque Management, would make it more drivable then it is now.. In stock tune form you're being held back a decent bit.. I still love that color combination tho...lol

Oh god I'll take it. :)

Making me miss my 98 LS (Which was missing one option to be a LSS, along with the supercharger.)

Love it. Especially the color combo!
