Im looking to do my brakes on a 2000 Bonneville SSEi and was thinking about going with slotted rotors and ceramic pads, whats your thoughts on slotted vs standard rotors?
People have said the performance upgrade is nice but being slotted they heat up and cool down alot faster which could lead to them warping. The ones ive looked into say they last about twice as long as OEM and 20-40 percent better braking....any advice?

You will perceive no difference between slotted and normal.

Just get good pads.

The thicker the rotor you can get, the better. And it seems like it's not easy to find thick ones any more.

I've used a dimple-drilled and slotted rotor from Brakeperfromance.com on many cars for many years. They do stop SLIGHTLY quicker but not enough to impress. The reason I buy them is because they have a lifetime warranty against warping and cracking. The wife is extremely hard on brakes and her Grand Caravan is know for warped rotors. I replaced them with these and it's the best stopping minivan around!!! Every car I own gets these and I've never had to replace them again.

They look good and work well. Worth the money over the cheap ebay one's in my opinion. With the GXP wheels on my Bonnie, you can really see them and I get complements on them a lot plus they have consistent braking no matter how I'm driving.

Correct me if im mistaken, Ceramic pads get a bit hotter if your doing a lot of stopping. But they stop very nice. If you use them with drilled or slotted or both it might help with heat but then they might wear faster. Just my two cents. Forgot what brand I got but I love the pads I got and can look up the number for you.

For what it's worth, I went with brake motive drilled/slotted rotors with ceramic pads for 160 and love em.

Good to know, figured since i have some 20×9 chunk chrome rims on it that it wouldnt be a bad idea to roll with the slotted for the extra weight, yea from what ive been hearing off the gmforums and few of my buddys theyre tellin me to stay away from the ebay sets that are going for around $160...

Btw, quik ? Whats the difference between a rear lateral link with ball joint assembly vs an adjustment link??
Was told to get an "adjustment lateral link" from the shop part #905-511 and found the laterals are like $60 and the adjustment ones are like $100, any you guys ever replace these before?

For the rear? It's all one piece for the lateral arm I actually just picked up moog 60232. Solid bar and grease fitting. Adjuster might be referring to the bolt that attaches it to the sub frame that allows you to adjust camber or caster I can't remember which.

Moog 60232 only comes up with coil springs...

Sorry had springs on the brain. Part Number is Moog #CK660168. Still trying to find invoice for break pads too.
