After reading various posts on L36 coolant topics, it seems to me the these cars are somewhat susseptable to air pockets being left in the system after flushing if not done properly. I'm aware of the bleeder screw, or "burp" valve, but would the average repair shop or garage be aware of it when servicing?. I know the 3.8 L36 is installed in a lot of GM's, so I don't foresee any issues for a simple coolant flush...or is it something I should do myself?.
Maybe I'm just a little freaked out over all of the horror stories I've read over a simple coolant flush gone wrong.

A coolant flush is very easy. There is a write up in Techinfo if I'm not mistaken. To ease burping, park somewhere where the nose will be slightly elevated, like a driveway etc. It really isn't a tough process.

Haro posted on here about cracking open bleeder after letting motor get hot. Worked good to get that last bit of air out for me last I did it. That was even after jacking up the front passenger side while filling like I have always done. So if someone does it for you just check it after it gets hot. Needs to be done hot to push air out but be care full

Yup! But as stated, be extra careful. Put on an oven mitt wrapped in a plastic bag or something if you're doing it yourself.

or...install Gabriel/Monroe quick struts, the front end will rise all by itself.

Could just use a Lisle spill free funnel?
