clunk from driver front
clunk from driver front
A clunk just started all of a sudden and sounds like it's coming from the front driver's side. It completely goes away when I brake and also when I accelerate. There doesn't seem to be any vibrations related to it. Just a clunk noise. Where should I start? Brakes? They seem to be working properly, no smell or pulling when applied. Thank you

Re: clunk from driver front
Does it happen over bumps, or when turning?
Re: clunk from driver front
It is constant while I'm at cruising speeds. Doesn't seem related to turning or bumps. When I accelerate it the sound goes away. It is still there if I lightly brake, but if I hit the brake pedal hard the noise stops as well
Re: clunk from driver front
check all the bushings in the front for sway bar and also front engine mount. sounds like something has a blown out bushing. if the front mount is bad you could be hearing the downpipe against the swaybar. also check subframe bolts to make sure they are tight and check sub frame bushings.
