lost transmission

Post by 2000bonnieSSEi »

My buddy has a 2000 ssei and he lost 4th gear so brought to his mechanic who told him that a washer or something went and if it doesn't get fixed it'll just cause more problems and will soon lose more gears, so basically where does he go from here? Only 106,000 on the car, did some research and there are a few transmission options for this car, which one is best? And how much would you pay? Any help is appreciated, happy holidays!!

The 4th gear hub probably just wore off.

Yes what he said. Not to bad of a job, have to drop sub frame & pull side cover to trans. Then chain cover & chain. Clutchs & hub right there. Don't have to pull guts. Hardest part is subframe & all the stuff with it , like steering & knuckle.
