Heated seats still not working after wires reconnected

so I researched the heated seats on the ssei not working. Mine does the same issue. Press the button ,light comes on for 1 second and then clicks back off. I took the driver seat cushion up and found both wires cut on the bottom seat toward the door side. I reconnected them and turned on the heated seat button. It is still doing the same issue. The other wires are connected to their elements and no signs of burnt out elements. Could it be the module instead or maybe a top back seat element burnt out. How do you take the back portion seat cover off to check for these as well?

It could be the module, switch, or circuit between the module and switch.

There are 3 elements in the heated seat. With the seat out, measure the resistance of the entire circuit from the red wire coming out of the heated seat module under the seat to the black one. It should be under 4 ohms. If the circuit is open, then there is still another break in the wire. You can figure out which element has the break by disconnecting the two connectors under the seat between each element and measuring the resistance across each element. Keep in mind the elements are connected in series so when you disconnect the 2 connectors, the one to the seat back can be tested at both points on the same connector, the first lower connector is tested from the red wire at the module to one of the black wires at the first connector, and the second element in the seat bottom is tested from the other black wire at the first connector to one of the black wires at the second connector (at the connector going to the seat back.) If there are no open circuits, then replace or swap the heated seat module with the other seat and if it now works, then the module was bad. If it still doers not work, then you have to replace the RIM.

Is there any how to on removal of the back seat. I have seen the lower seat and that's how I fixed the wires that were broken to the heater element. But I did not see anything on how to remove the cover on the upper to see if there are any broken wires there.

Also when the light goes out on the dash there is a click noise like a relay behind the dash that goes off. Is there a relay behind the dash that could be bad for that switch?

Thanks

It is a little bit involved and I would suggest pulling the fuse for the SIR system in the rear fuse block (under the back seat).

It might help to remove the seat cushion

It'll require headrest removal, opening the seat back cover j-channels (where the seat back scallops in), remove the air-bag, head rest retainiers, and seat belt retractor.

Why is this topic in the GXP forum, as he is talking about an SSEi ?
Not that it isn't a good topic, but there may be differences in the seat from his car to a GXP.

Didn't the later seats have 5 heating elements in them?

Yes, I noticed that too, but I belive 2003 was the same seat as a GXP. Just without the suede inserts we have.
