Yokohama tires

Anyone have any experience with Yokohama Avid Ascend tires? The car wanders. I have been under it 6 times. I have had it to the alignment shop. The tire shop says it is not the tires, of course. The suggest front struts and front control arm bushings. I can see nothing wrong with the bushings. Neither can the alignment shop. The car is a 99 Olds 88 with 100k on it, but it has wandered since I put the tires on it at 82k. Can't say what it was like before, because I bought it with 82k on it, and immediately put new 16 inch tires and Bonneville wheels on when I bought it. I am getting ready to put struts and control arm bushings in. I know this car will drive better that it does. I drove a 98 model a relative had a few years back, and it drove very well. I still think it is the tires. I have them down to 28 psi, which helps some. At 35 psi, it is much worse.

I'm running 3 sets of Ascends with no issues, I doubt the problem is with the tires. It's too bad you did not wait before the swap to see if there were front end issues. Did you test drive the car before you bought it? If you still have the original wheels put them back on and see if the problem goes away.

Has the back been checked? And can you describe the issue a bit more thoroughly? Does it seem like the car just has a mind of it's own? Does it just take off it's own direction randomly? If you are running down the highway, and let go of the steering wheel, what happens?

I'd be interested to see your alignment spec sheet before speculating. Can you scan it, or get a clear picture of it?

Just finished the control arm bushings and struts. Will see how that works.
