I own a 00 bonneville ssei and before it got cold it would be hard to start then when the weather got cold up here it starts right up and sometimes when coming off a freeway ramp you hit the gas and the car loses all power then goes back to normal after a second or two.

Re: egr
So, why did you title your post EGR? If you expect good answers, provide us with good information. If you want crappy help, do as you did.

Re: egr
I put egr in the title because every place I've taken it said its the egr valve but I don't want to spend a 100 and some dollars and that not be it. I also just replaced the crankshaft position sensor a few months back.

Re: egr
What's the maintenance history on the car? Plugs, wires, coils, ICM, clogged cat... All of those can be culprits here.
Re: egr
It has new spark plugs, plug wires, coils, crankshaft position sensor. The motor oil was changed every 3000 miles. I've noticed there is like a rattling noise when idling but after you hit the gas it goes away but that noise is coming from under the hood. I'm stumped everybody keeps telling me different things around the area I live in. Autozone and a mechanic friend of mine says egr valve then a few garages say go get a case learn done or camshaft sensor.
Re: egr
it could be all the things listed and more, any obd2 codes?, not sure which egr it has, but you can test the egr, here is a site I used http://easyautodiagnostics.com/gm/4.3L- ... ve-tests-1, you can also disconnect the egr and see if it gets better, if you do not have an egr code it is probably not the egr, also no need to change your oil every 3k miles, normal driving these days requires changing it 6-8k miles or once a year, you are wasting your money changing it sooner, most of my cars are well over 100k and some over 200k

Re: egr
That sounds a lot like the Lesabre I'm trying to figure out right now. Think I'm going to do the intakes tomorrow. I've done o2 different wires & plugs, cleaned maf. Also this car don't always do it and seams worse when cold but can even stall sometimes when stopped. Has the rattle when doing this like a cylinder is not firing. But only code is p0135 for o2 heater which I've ran a different ground and have power even checked with probe after connection & that code won't go away which has me stomped. Tested ohms on o2 element and good as it should be being new. This car always starts right up tho.
Another thing I'm suspecting is fuel injector. They all sound the same, considering building a tester someone posted on fullsizechevyforum for me at hackaweek.com

Re: egr
Do the intake if it has never been done. Fixed the lesabre. Get metal felpro gasket, intake new adp, metal elbows from rock auto & don't put dexcool back in it. To me besides plugs & wires this is part of what needs done to every 3800 when much over 100,000 miles.
As far as the code could be bad cat. The site robauto linked u can search your code#, a lot of info on that site.
