Self leveling suspension

Just curious if anyone else has ever pushed the air button in the trunk to raise the car. I have pushed it when I am about to drive through a lot of snow, or even on gravel in order to reduce the chance of chips in the paint. Is this bad for the car? Or is the "air" button in the trunk designed for these purposes? I'm aware that you can hook a hose up to it in order to inflate tires or whatever as well.

The air button in the trunk operates the little nozzle so you can fill beach balls, or whatever. It can fill tires, but it would take a little while.

The car levels itself automatically. The driver has no control over it. The button does not affect the leveling system, merely using its pump to provide air.

It looks like an old school hot-rod. I had mine jacked up all the way once.

I did it while at the dragstrip. Honestly, I don't think it would make much difference as far as chips, etc, but there isn't anything inherently wrong with it, except probably wearing the pump out faster. When I did mine, I would disconnect the sensor and pump it up and shut it off, so that it wasn't running the pump.

The other thing is your tires will wear different, since it's at the outer range of the suspension travel. The alignment specs are designed to have the suspension in the middle of the travel...
