Sun shade removal and install question

Post by BRUTE FORCE »

I removed the sun shade to replace the fabric but I can't seem to re-position it in place. Any one know of a fix or how to put it back to it's place.

You just have to line up the 3 holes on the sunshade bracket with the holes in the sheet metal above the headlines. Then once you get the first screw in, the others will line up.

Do you mean you cannot get the sunshade in or the glass?

Most of the fabric for the sunshade is thicker than what GM used. It takes a little more effort to get it in and it will be a little harder to slide back and forth when in.

Here is Andrew's write up on the headliner and sunshade:

There are 4 tabs on the sunshade. I opened the sun roof all the way back and snapped in the 4 tabs of the shade to the inside track, but when I close the sunroof It does not close all the way, it seems that the shade blocks it from closing all the way. Is this the proper way to re-install the shade or am I missing a step. Thank you all for your help!!!!!!!!

On mine, I removed the glass when installing and removing the sunshade. Did you have the glass out when installing the sunshade?

Put in vent position and remove 4 torx head screws and lift glass off.

Now there is! :beerchug:
