Crappy Idle. 2000 SSEI

Hey guys, back with another problem. LOL

So when the car gets started it idles real goofy. as in it idles around 500 to 700 id say it... surges... It does it worse when its cold and its even around, but not as bad, when its already warm/hot. The car has no problems when driving! It seems like after a few miles everything evens out.

We've tried Berrymans and Sea Foam cleaners thinking it was a fuel system problem but to no avail.

I saw a youtube video of some guys replacing the crank position sensor on a bonneville and even though they were saying their tach was reading really messed up(which ours isnt) they did say their idle was messed up.

Id like to not throw random parts at the car so im hoping someone can offer any suggestions.

Thanks!!!!

The throttle body and its sensors might need some cleaning. A good place to start.

Ug! i forgot to add that ive already replaced the maf. it was throwing a code saying that was bad and a cleaning didnt help. but now its new and it hasnt thrown a code for that.

when i bought the maf cleaner it came with throttle body spray too. i followed instructions from here on for that...

are there any other sensors i can look at?

Update...

replaced the crank position sensor and it solved our issue. the bolts on the pulley are m6 x 1. and were NOT included in the "power master" puller kit i rented from advance auto.
