windshield wiper issue..

ive had issues with my windshiled wipers for quite a while.. first the would work... but only on high. then had a little bit of snow and they just stopped. well i was piddling with them today and i can hear the motor when i hit the wipers and the water works.. but no movement.. when i turn them on they also move freely with my hand but when i turn them off they lock back. any ideas?

mine only worked on high so I replaced the motor,sorry I couldnt help

Maybe the common problem with the control module or whatever for the wipers getting corroded from water leaks can be causing this issue.

I had/having some problems with the wipers on the '05 SE. The they were "temperamental". Had the youngest son look at it. He said the "transmission" (linkage) was "worn out". He thought it had maybe happened when there was ice on the windshield. So, we're waiting for the part from Amazon. -BC
