Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Most love affairs end sooner or later. The lady and I have finally parted ways. She's known it was coming for several months in spite of my trying to keep it a secret. Just a few days ago she went flat line on her blower motor and got in a last dig before going out of my life forever. She still looked good even with 96,000 miles on her. Still drove like a dream and was always the wolf in sheep's clothing on the street. But nothing lasts forever. The signs of a breakup had been there for a while. No amount of polish could hide the faded areas of her clear coat. The metal flakes in her paint that were so shiny when she was young were no longer as sparkly as they used to be. Old age was slowly but surely catching up with her. She still had what it takes up front but I was looking for something with a little more push in the rear. She went out with dignity showing her worth on the contract line that said "Trade Allowance". Now she has been replaced by a true wolf in wolf's clothing. The transmission fluid spots on the driveway will soon fade. The echoes of her Northstar roar have been replaced by the snarl of a Hemi. The old Queen is dead, long live the new Queen.

You purchased a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty with that Chrysler product, right?

....they seem to last forever, even with a screwed up transmission....

Now, don't take offense mxr, did it not get fixed yet?
I don't think Chryslers are too bad...considering all the issues we have with GM products.

It should last forever, it's got 1 new engine with about 30k on it now and pretty much everything else has been replaced! It is now on transmission #2, which is equally screwed up (but never seems to act up when we take it in to show them), has gone through a radiator (it just seperated at the bottom for no apparent reason and began pissing all over the place), fan relay, idler, exhaust is going out, rear wheel speed sensor, 5 power sliding door cables, one door lock actuator, two HVAC headunits, and a number of little trivial things.

This has been all paid for BY Chrysler due to their Lifetime Powertrain Warranty and my bitching. After nearly 50k, 9 oil consumption tests, 7 customer service reps, 3 case numbers, and two dealership service departments, they finally stepped up to the plate.

Also, it seems as though they look great and run great up until about 75k - 80k and then their cheapness starts to shine. Things fall apart just looking at them. Then you start getting maintenance issues. I think ours had screws falling out of the dash a week after we bought it.

So that's why I say, did the OP get the Lifetime Powertain Warranty with it? That is the only way I will buy another Chrysler. Sadly I don't believe it's even offered on SRT products which is what I would want anyway. While it would only cover the powertrain, if enough stuff happened, and you started bending their ear like I did, you could get them to cover it.

This is the second one we've had with problems that I wouldn't chalk up to just little PITA type of things... The straw that broke the camels' back on the first one was an electrical short that started a little underhood fire. Wasn't much, but scared the sh*t out of the Wife. So guess who got stuck with driving the Dodge until we could get rid of it...
