Yet another transmission thread

I have done much research on this, and I really haven't found anything definitive.

2002 ssei

I bought my car with 94K on it. I changed the trans fluid/ filter and did the transgo kit then. The transmission never sent any error codes, I did the kit as a preventative measure. For the last 20K miles, the trans has performed very well.

Fast forward to 116K miles now (22K later). I jump in the car over the weekend, put it in drive and the car barely moves. But once it hits second gears, it is fine. Only first gear is the issue at this moment. It never slipped or anything before, it just happened all of the sudden. So I add some Gunk Transmedic, withing 10 miles of driving, first gear is back and working as it should. Yes! So I drop the pan, change the fluid and filter. The trans is shifting smooth as butter thru all gears. There wasn't excessive clutch mud in the pan, and no abnormal metal shavings either.

Now forward about 50 miles later after the bliss of a miracle lol, first is just about gone, and all other forward gears seem to be slipping now too! UGH! The fluid level is spot on, no clunking or odd noises, and throughout all this, it has NEVER given an error code! Well, I just dropped the car off at a reputable trans shop in the area. I'm going to see what they come up with. But does anyone have any ideas of what the issue could be? Also, when I originally changed the fluid, it was dirty, but not burnt smelling. And today it is very fresh and still not burnt smelling. HELP!!!! :sadeyz:

Well, the trans place called. It isn't good. He said there is internal "hard" damage. I forgot to mention this in my earlier post, but when you manually shift the car into 1st, it almost locks up and stalls the engine.

He told me this happened to him as well. He said something is probably broken, floating around in there, possibly in the torque converter causing all kinds of issues.

He said they would charge around $2500 to pull and rebuild. WTF!!!
