Abandoned Bonneville

I was watching some exploration videos on Youtube yesterday, and I ran across a video where the guy was visiting a ghost town somewhere in the upper peninsula of Michigan (he won't say where exactly). Not long after the video starts, I saw something that caught my attention:

This Bonneville is just sitting in the grass, rotting away. Lots of abandoned vehicles in that area. The guy even runs across a classic Mustang (at around the 5:40 mark).

Just thought it was interesting. Never seen a Bonne in one of these videos before. And, in case anyone is interested, here's the link for the video:

I'm pretty sure that is how on of those WRONG TURN horror flicks started out. Someone ends up in the backwoods, there's lots of abandoned vehicles... and as it turns out, there's a small hoard of horribly inbred hillbillies that are uber fast, strong, and accurate with their crossbows that have been leaving their victims cars around. There was an old green truck in there with stacks up the back of the cab that looked just like one of their primary "big game" huntin' rigs.

Yeah, I can hear them, too!

I used to do a lot of exploration like this back when I was in college and had a lot more free time, but I was always with friends, and sometimes one or two of them were packing. I think this guy is nuts for going to these places by himself (I've seen a few of his vids already), even in the day time.

Too bad that looks like a base model. Still, if someone could find it, free parts. I doubt anyone around there (if there is still anyone left) would care.

That about covers half the forum

I could just see it now, 25 bonnevilles show up at a gas station in the U.P. A couple getting gas, has a bonneville and asks "Where are all you bonneville guys heading, is there a meet nearby?"

Someone replies "Nope, we done seen this abandoned bonneville on youtube, figured we'd check 'er out. I needs a new ashtray!"
