3rd brake light bulb is stuck

I cant remove the bulb from the high-mount brake light socket in a 1999 ssei. Removed the socket from the trunk and detached the socket from the wiring, then I tried pushing in the bulb and turning it, but it wont budge.

Do I have to replace the whole socket/bulb as an assembly since the socket does detach from the wiring using a clip?

The warning comes on intermittently in the DIC and the middle brake light does not light up, but looking at the bulb, the filament is still intact. But still need to get that darn bulb out of the socket.
