Low beam headlight works when it wants to...

My passenger low beam headlight started acting up about a couple weeks ago. At first I thought the bulb was out but then one night it randomly worked again. And now it hasn't lit up while driving for about a week. The bulbs aren't very old at all, I put Plasmaglow Xenon bulbs in it earlier this summer. Here's the odd part, when I lock or unlock the doors with keyless entry it lights up! (the lights blink 3 times and then stay on so you can see around the car at night) I don't know what the option is called. But when I turn the key and start the car it won't light up. Doesn't matter if I turn the switch on or just let the automatic night sensing feature do its thing. High beams work fine. Is there a module or relay in there? I'm lost.

Lights the flash when you unlock I thought were the high beams? At least on mine they are.
I was having a similar issue but I have HID's.. They require 9-12v to properly run the ballasts and I found my light hookups are only putting out about 7.6-7.8v which Would cause issue with them coming on sometimes but doing a direct wire to the battery fixes this. I don't know if that kind of thing could cause issues with regular halogen bulbs tho.

I’m pretty sure it’s the low beams that flash when you lock or unlock with keyless entry. It’s the 2 inner lights and the brights are the 2 outers. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

I had an intermittent problem with the right low beam and it turned out to be the wiring harness from the connector to the bulb socket. I got a new harness from haro and that fixed the problem.

I had an old bulb laying around I was going to try and as soon as I wiggled the connection around it lit up! That was on Sunday and so far so good. Not sure if it was a loose connection or if I have a harness going bad...time will tell.

Put a little dielectric grease on the connector.
