More of the STS-V

So, with the ole Mother Winter quickly looming here in the upper midwest, and my days with this car out for the season are quickly dwindling, I wanted to get some good pics with a better camera (than my phone). Truth be told, I've been a little jealy of all those taking cool pics of their cars in factories, parking garages, etc, adding that "industrial" feel to it. So I wanted to get some here in our parking garage at work. That meant it had to be a nice day (so I could take the car), and then a day that few people would be there. That leads to a Friday night because this place is a ghost town by 1pm in the afternoon on a day when half the place doesn't show up anyway...

Sorry the car isn't perfectly clean, as I hadn't washed it in a week, but I also wanted to get the Continental Extreme Contact DW's and the new wheels in some decent pics before I put the old ones with the DWS's back on.

Very nice Lane! My wife's uncle has a black STS-V that I got to ride in when we were up in Chicago, and that thing was fun. I can only imagine how much more fun yours is with the tune and mods.

The ones I want to PVD are the crappy stockers, which are now going back on the car for winter (they have the DWS's), so not until next spring at least.

Joe, if he is not on Cadillac forums, would it be entirely possible that you get me his info on the car? I know that sounds lame (like asking for a significant others measurements or something), but I have been slowly amassing a registry of all STS-V's. I need year (2006 - 2009), color combo (ext: Light Platinum Metallic, Black Raven, Black Ice a 2009 only color I believe, and Thunder Grey Metallic. Int: LIght Grey, Ebony, Ebony/Tango Red), VIN#, location, name.

Looks great Lane! I thought it got parked for the winter?

Are the wheels different size F/R?

He's not on FB, I can talk to the wife and try and get his number to find out.

Things I know off hand though: His name is Jay Myers. It's a Black car with ebony leather interior, Blacked out rims (I think they may have been C6 rims, but I can't remember because it was kind of dark. One thing I know is that his is a Northstar V (Think they all were, but I'm not an expert on them), and he lives more around the Arlington Heights/Crystal Lake area.

He's pretty big into the drag racing scene (not street, strictly strip) and has a Blue hotrod that he built with his sons. At the time of visit he was in the process of building a 632 big block for it. I was trying to find some pictures of his car on facebook, but could only find his hot rod. If you've ever been to any drag events around that track, here's that car if you recognize it. They also had some 93-97 f-body's that they used to drag, but those both got wrecked lol.

sorry this one is tiny, blame facebook lol

Ed, yes it does get parked for the winter. However, I've been holding out as it's been pretty temperate still. Yes, they are a staggered size wheels. Front is 18x8.5, rear is 19x9.5.

Joe, I do not have him. I've got about 60 cars out of 2,503, so I'm 2.5% of the way there. :)

Anyway, all Chicago/Illinois ones I have are all oddly enough... Light Platinum like mine. :) He can't have Corvette wheels. 1st gen CTS-V and then STS-V's use a unique 6 lug wheel. Vette's use a 5 lug, standard GM bolt pattern wheel. The LC3 Northstar in the V's shared nothing with the regular Northstar's other than name and overall design.

I would like to add him. Please assure him, I am not selling the info, or posting it on bathroom stall walls. I am trying to build this registry, and then hopefully create a central website on the web where peeps can go see where their car is at on the list. I tried to get something from GM with every VIN#, but you can guess how that turned out...

You should contact Count's Customs, Danny the owner (Counting Cars) has a twin to yours, lowered though.

I know you know that, but still. :)

Ah gotcha, they looked like vette style rims, so I'm not sure exactly what they are then, likely aftermarket I suppose. I'll send him a message and let you know if he gets back to me on it.

I've got that one on my registry. It started life as a Light Platinum like mine. Rumor is, it is a salvage title. But no confirmation.

That is one beautiful V you have there! Wish they were still made. I know there were few made because there wasn't much demand, but GM has made a number of cars with less demand. - BC
