Hello. New to the site. I bought this Bonneville in June as a self birthday present! My first Pontiac.. I have always loved the Pontiac division and especially the Bonneville as I got older. It is the SSE version of the car. Previously owned by a grandmother and then her daughter. Was in fair condition when I bought it. I changed the intake manifold gaskets. What a first time experience! Very frustrating but at the same time accomplishing knowing I only came out of pocket for the gaskets themselves. And replaced the water pump. Im not a mechanic, but I am self teaching myself. I did pretty good, been driving the car for 3 weeks since then and not a single problem concerning the oil/coolant leaks anymore. :bwoohoo: :) Buuttt the car still need struts all around and the springs (whole suspension done basically.) Which can be costly, and I don't know if Ill do it myself. Also, I need a new driver side skirt for the bottom (so if anyone has any extras, let me know!) But here goes My 'Bonne B' or the 'Silver Bullet' as I like to call 'HIM'.

Haha, yeah, thanks to many washes and waxes. But it has 166k on the engine.

Very nice car, and congrats on figuring out those mechanical issues! That car should give you many more years of service with those being done!

Nice looking car. They're wonderfully simple compared to my current Saab which I call Peter.

Very nice, kudos on the detail work and gasket replacement! Is the plain silver Pontiac arrowhead on the front fascia standard for these?

By the way, you can also use the gallery to upload your photos: Image

The 96-99 SLE, SSE, and SSEi had body color front arrowheads. Mine you don't notice but like Alex's 97 DCM and 96 DPG you notice they're body color.

What a great looking Bonnie! The '97 is what got me into Bonnevilles to begin with. Always keeping one eye out for one. Nice car!
