Issue here, my transmission a 4t60-e. Does not apply the TCC. T stat and coolant level fine so that's not the issue.

It does apply the TCC in the first 5-10 mins of operation of the car, but as soon as it warms up, I've lost TCC, and the Revs are in the 2500 range at 80 kph.

Check engine light is on but haven't had time to pull the codes. The car hasn't been running in a year and half, and has no EGR valve, just a plate over where the valve used to be. The light stays on under heavy acceleration, but turns off on decal, and as soon as you get back on the gas, it turns on again. Will pull the codes tomorrow.

Would be nice to get the tranny working properly, it uses very little gas at 100 kph and the engine cruising at 1800 rpms vs 3000 rpms!!

No, not the same... The 60e does not tend to strip them out, but they do wear and should be replaced when you rebuild..

We need to know what code the PCM has stored...

93 still has the flash feature....

94-95 can only be read with a scan tool...

The codes are 39 TCC clutch problem, and I have another code, 56 quad driver b. 56 is because I removed the EGR.

It sounds like you lost OD all together. Does it act like it shifts at all once you cruise past 80kph? If you are cruising at, say, 100kph, and pull the shifter from OD to D, does the car react at all? Just be careful when you do this, because it is very easy to overshoot and hit 2nd. A 2nd gear downshift has NO safeguards, so it SHOULD go down every time, which if you are above 120kph and hit second, you WILL have a new problem (or a solution to all your problems, depending on how you look at it)

I think the 39 could be a circuit problem as in the PCM applied the TCC and nothing happened, as in 0 drop in slip... also the brake circuit also has a switch for the TCC as well...

This is a PWM TCC so the TCC is on the PWM will ramp from 0-100% duty cycle... Somewhere along this line will be a problem..

Need to hook a scan tool to it to see what it anything the TCC is doing when the PCM commands it on and ramps up the duty cycle..

Mine did this too. But checked the fluid level and it was over full. Dropped the level to normal and the fluid was so aireated that it took a week before it started acting normal.

I did find it overfull by a liter, so I took your suggestion. It didnt work yet. I have been able to get on the road with a scantool. Shows that tcc is on, but there isnt any!

If the car is cold, and for the first 3 mins of operation, the tcc works. After that, its gone bye bye. The other thing is I lose 4th gear after a while of cruising the highway which kills my gas! When this happens, the scantool shows fourth gear status as off. This means at 110, the revs are at 2800 to 3000 rpms which is a bit much for this motor..

It doesnt look fun to take the tranny apart to replace the tcc solonoid, and I dont want to get a used because this one is a used already, and it seems like a common problem with the older 4t60e's. Besides, the transmission works great, and the fluid is in good shape.

Yeah sounds like a bigger problem with losing fourth gear. I had bought my car overfilled with fluid and just drained it. And yeah I was told u have to drop the trans to fix something like that bc its mounted transverse. I know my spelling sucks.
