love it.

Are they metal? plastic?

I'm considering some on the impala for some reason, I think it'd look HOT!

Plastic...but strong. From a mid 1980`s Trans Am. Their place was on the nose. These are rotated 90 degrees. Sanded, spot putty, primed, painted to code...3 coats of compatable clear. wilwren has done a great write-up at our old house...but we can`t link you....so you`ll have to search for it there. Good luck, I`ll think they`ll look good. Remember...measure TWICE...cut once..`cause there`s no going back once the sparks fly! A few beers for courage don`t hurt either.... 8-[

That looks great man! Awesome

I still need to finish mine. Brad drilled 5 holes in my hood in October and filled one back in. Havn't gotten to finishing it due to alot of other stuff going on. But in the next week or two I should have that and a few other projects done.

However, I don't see the TechInfo write up for the vents, it doesn't look like it made it over. I'll let everything settle in before I bother Wren about it, no rush anyway, still waiting on the engine :???:

How much did that cost? And if you did it yourself, how much do you think someone else would do it for?

Ummm....let`s see...
$10 Us + ship ($10) E-Bay for vents = 20
$9.99 Cdn ea for paint (paint & Clear) = 20
Putty, wet-sandpaper I had at home (800grt,1000grt) free
You could do it all under 50$...depends how much you pay for the vents!
Oh yeah....my labour......$1500.00 per hour.....(why not? I`m worth it!)
I have no idea how much one would charge you...but they better be precise!
I took less than a day myself, start to finish.... taking it easy.

I have my vent project started, but since I have to epaint my hood anyway, I'm doing mine a little different

do me a favour, and you get my the measurements of the outside edge of the vents to the outside edge of the hood (sides and back)

The first set went on the Zilla. Second was Gravenge for driverjohn2005.

Trust me on this, after doing two sets. Measure from the CENTER HOOD CREASE, not the outside edge.

Looking GREAT.

ok, give me the measurement, from the center crease to the OUTSIDE edge on the vent (on its inside) Remember, I'm making the hole in the hood the same size as the vent itself.

Sorry it took some time getting back...working nights! Bill`s right..... with the measurements...I would measure from the center crease of the hood. It was 9" center to edge of cut. Be aware that this will give you a hole in the hood that is smaller than the vent itself. The trim edge of the vent sits on top of the hood(and allows for a small amount of adjustment). You only have 1/25" or so of trim edge to cover hole so better to go smaller than bigger. I believe the vents come off the winshield cowl edge 7". You had better get the exact measurements from willwren to be sure...trust me...you do not want to make a mistake in cutting these holes! If you are planning to put these vents somewhere different, I don`t think I can help you much...but be advised [-X , the area these are installed, is the flatest and most functional (braces underneath) you will find. Anywhere else and you will probable run into structure braces and hood contour problems. Good luck. PM if I can help any further. Maybe Bill can send you his write-up... it`s almost a must have for reference! :)

ok then....see you`re mounting them flush with the hood...like on the GTA.
Measured on the passenger side vent....
From edge of hood to edge of vent....13 1/2"
from center of hood (crease) to inboard edge of vent ....8 5/8"
from cowl to back right corner(from inside car, looking out) .....6"
from cowl to back left( in board corner) ....6 3/8"

these are as exact as I can make them...good luck, keep us posted!
