I saw recently that mcguires has new wax out specifically for black cars and one for white cars, has anyone tried it yet? Since its designed for white cars I want to get it but has anyone else tried it? Did you notice any difference from your normal wax? I want to get it but its kinda expensive for that little 7oz tube and if there is no difference I won't switch but if there is I'm certainly willing to pay. So and comments on it, good or bad?

I used the white wax on my G8. Wax is kind of hard to see on a white car, and it's been a long time since I've waxed a white car, so I can't say how well it looks, but it gave my G8 and amazingly smooth surface. It's also holding up a lot better than some other waxes I've used (multiple rain drives, washes, and spray details, and it's still on there).
It did seem to help hide some of the light swirls in the paint, and that's probably to do with the white pigments in the wax.
You also don't use very much of it, so it should last a long time with regular waxing.

Gotcha thank you, I'm gonna get it then, and where did u get it, bc I've been to 2 different walmarts over a 2 month period and they have the black wax there but never the white, they have the labels there where it should be but it is never there so I'm kinda annoyed

I picked it up at my local Advance Auto store. I usually don't get anywhere else because a friend and my brother work at Advance, so I can usually get a discount.

The "white" wax is not espically for white cars. The White wax has a lot of cleaners in it to the paint, and make the white...whiter. There is also a "black" wax that has more oils in it to fill in imperfections.
If you follow any of the detaining forums, the best results were had with the White wax followed by the Ultimate Wax on light colored vehicles

Next time I wax the G8, I'll have to try it with the Ultimate wax. Although, that car is bright enough white as it is!
I used the Turtle Wax brand black wax on my Bonneville, and I tell ya, it did wonders for bringing out that shine (and toned down the harshness of the 'road rash' on my back doors). The stuff just doesn't last very long, even with claying first (water is still beading on the Bonneville, but the smoothness is wearing off in places).

The black box is good *shoot*. I always had great results with Pinnacle Souveran liquid on my white SSEi. I only use Souveran paste (red & black cars) on my two now because it doesn't leave any haze behind on the red like many others. Ultimate is great stuff too. But it hazes on red. Everything else I used it on was great though.

I believe back in '09 when Ryan buffed my Bonneville, he used the Souveran paste wax on it. That thing shined for months. I haven't used it since. I might have to pick a liquid bottle down the road to try it. Maybe layer it on top of both the white (G8) and black (Bonneville) waxes for extra bonding and protection.
I will look into some nice stuff once I have the LeSabre rebuilt and repainted.

FWIW: Liquid waxes work better on light cars, pastes work better on dark and red cars.

I use Collinite. Not quite the best for shine, but super durable and long lasting.

Well ill have to try that ultimate thing after I put the white wax on, bc the factory color on my Bonnie is "bright white" and I want to keep it that way

Turtle Wax has a "quick detailer" for black cars. It has wax in it and worked good enough that the guys in the service drive at the Cadillac dealership made comments about it. It did let it dry after applying it before I buffed it. - BC

I have a couple bottles of that black spray detailer. Same stuff that comes in the Black Box, but more of it. I like it because it helps refresh that black look.

Well I just put the wax on a few days ago and I gotta be honest, it certainly looks brighter that with previous waxes, now u guys mentioned meguires ultimate finisher, where would I get that bc the target I went to had nothing like that, and since I've been driving the car a bit since the wax should I put a detailed spray on first before I put the ultimate finisher on?

Greg is correct. Liquid Souveran is the best wax I have used on white cars. It is on sale now. Here is a link to the product.
