Front end noise
Recently, my '05 SLE has developed a light fluttering type clunk in the front end, mainly audible when I drive over a rough road with light bumps. I can feel it in the steering wheel as well as hearing it. I had the intermediate shaft replaced, the lower column bearing checked for tightness as well as the front end components like ball joints, tie rods and sway bar links and the exhaust system for looseness. The struts are original, however, but there are no leaks and no bounce at all in the car. The rack is original as well and it's not leaking. I've spent hours looking around under there and don't see anything loose. I don't want to throw parts at it but it's driving me nuts. Any ideas?
