Well, I bought this as a project to flip, but also as a temporary replacement for my truck. I'm really liking it though - it may be hard selling this one. Might just have to stick around!

Anyways, it's a 1972 Chevy C10 Cheyenne Camper Special....ALL ORIGINAL, UNRESTORED - original paint! Turned 82,000 miles on the way home.

350 4bbl V8, Turbo Hydramatic, factory A/C, power disc brakes, power steering, tinted glass, cargo lamp, AM radio, full wheelcovers, heavy duty springs/front sway bar, camper mirrors, full Cheyenne interior (chrome/woodgrain trim, vinyl/chrome headliner, padded dash & door panels, stainless pedals, etc.), factory rear step bumper and trailer brake. Runs and drives fantastic - cruised comfortably at 65-70 on the highway for the 70 mile trip home in the rain - had to hold it back, cause that 4bbl V8 just likes to go! Bed is in amazing shape - no scrapes or rust, very few dings.



Needs new outer rocker panels on both sides, plus a cab corner on the driver's side. Probably will replace the RF fender as well and do a bit of preventative touch up where it needs it, but just what needs to be done, as I'd like to retain its excellent original paint job and 'survivor' status. Door molding is delaminating on the passenger door, not sure if that's repairable.





Interior is in surprisingly good shape - dash has no cracks, carpet is mint. I really need some help finding out the history on the seat - the upholstery appears OEM, and according to the former owner is original, but I can't find anywhere where this was an option - the Cheyennes usually had vinyl seats, and Cheyenne Supers had houndstooth upholstery. The driver's side is fraying unfortunately - but I have no idea whether this is OEM, or whether to replace it with the usual vinyl upholstery. A few people have looked at it and all said it looks to be original, but all brochures, option codes, and pictures I can find don't show any such option. Either it's a rare anomaly or a very good reupholstery job. Steering wheel is very cracked & needs replacement, radio doesn't work, but everything else works great, down to the cigarette lighter!

I agree ,if it ever breaks down you can get it running in 30 minutes. No computer or sensors just the way it should be.

Yeah, I'd say keep it too! I would for sure! If I had cash I would be telling you to sell it to me.

Sweet Truck! We have a 71 K5 Blazer in really poor shape. Always loved this body style though.

Wow, that's amazing. Our family has 3 67-72 GM trucks, I love 'em. If/when you decide to sell it, let me know. I'd like something very similar to that...

I would definitely keep it. I miss my old 79. I always tell the wife, the only items needed in a toolbox for these is a flat, phillips, 1/2, 9/19 and 5/8 inch wrench. With those you can disassemble the truck and put it back together.

I love it! I had one the bodystyle before and one after, but never this bodystyle. I love the color combo and it looks to be a real survivor!

I honestly think the 67-72 GM trucks are the best trucks ever made, period.

Thanks guys! I'm loving it so far - it's just old enough and cool enough to be a head turner, and just new enough to have the modern conveniences and the power to hold its own on the road as a daily driver. I agree that these are great trucks - simple, yet nice enough my wife feels comfortable driving it to the grocery store, and they really don't lack in ride or power much from more modern trucks.

Upon closer inspection today, it appears to have had some paint work done in the past - so I guess I was too quick to say it was original paint, but it was really well done, good enough it fooled me!

I'm assembling a shopping list of things I need....fan clutch, steering wheel, radio, a few trim pieces, RF fender, besides some other attention it needs - tightening the power steering belt and doing some brake work. If anyone has some spare parts they'd be willing to sell, let me know!

I have a spare 67 K10 I'd be willing to take some parts off of. LMK what you need...

It is a sweet truck though. Hopefully you can make it work in a way to keep it.

I'm a little put-off with some of the stuff that new trucks are getting. It's losing it's roots as a work vehicle, and becoming a (Luxury) car with an open cargo area. These trucks were built when the people who drove them needed them, plumbers, farmers, contractors, etc. Not average joe driving to work every day, and hauling crap to the dump once a year...

Awesome ride! My dad used to have a 72 Cheyanne in a 3/4 ton when I was a kid, loved that truck! He still kicks himself for selling it. 2 years ago my cousin bought a '72 C20 in beautiful restored condition with the wood grain accents. '72 or the Scottsdale years are definately my favorite in these trucks. Never been a huge fan of the C10s but this just may have changed that haha. Congrats on the purchase.

Sadly, this one is Auto On the column. Lack of a 3rd pedal denotes that, and the gear indicator on top of the column.
