Post by Calplaya »

Heres a few pictures of my old 1995 Bonneville SE, it was not only my first Bonneville but my first car too haha. I'll post pics of the new SSEI tomorrow if I can. In the meantime, enjoy! This might be the shiniest 95 Bonne you guys have ever seen haha! Gorgeous factory pearl like paint! miss this girl every day! Never should have sold her! She had just eclipsed 300k miles when most of these pictures were taken. She wasnt in too bad of shape if I do say so myself haha.

Looks pretty good.

I like the other cars in that photo too, especially the El Camino. I've always wanted one of those.

Thanks! Yeah, the El Camino actually belongs to the brother of my buddy who drives the Caddy. Both of whom are 2 of my best friends. We built the ElCo up tho, it came originally with a 4.3L V6 and we stuffed in a built 350 and a 350 Turbo tranny with a shift kit and 3.73 rear gears. The thing flys!

Alright guys, here she is in all her glory! Ok, only part of her glory, I have a lot of work left to do on this thing. I just spent 4 hours last night cleaning and detailing the interior trying to bring it back to life. I wish I would have taken more then one "before" picture of the interior tho, but it was TRASHED!

This was the nicest of the floors, and its bad haha.
Image

All the leather and floors were so stained and dirty I wasnt sure I'd be able to save them, but take a look!

Still havnt gotten to the exterior yet, its gunna rain today so Im waiting for that to pass haha. But the paint has a sweet metalic to it that Im hoping I can really bring out with some TLC. Soon I will be getting a new front fender, bumper, mirror and having Mike out in our body shop massage the hood and the passanger fender and take off the rear bumper which is flaking paint and have him repaint it all for me. This is what Im starting with tho.

So, this is my foray back into the world of Bonnevilles, a 1997 SSEI. Im more fond of the 92-95s but I dont have a problem with this style either. It had just had a new fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel lines, tranny flush, engine oil changed, new spark plugs, new plug wires, new brakes, all done by one of our mechanics at the dealership, the one whom I bought it from. After doing all of that to it, he sold it to me for only $1000 bucks! STOLEN is more like it haha!

I love the laces on your white bonnie. Looks like you loved her!
For the leather seats, use a magic eraser. Works wonders - but condition the leather after. Keep the progress going! As always - we love pictures :beerchug:

"Laces" refer to the cross lace rims. I personally love those on that body style!

PS - if you need ideas on cleaning up your car, find some of Andrew's (harofreak00) threads of his flips. He has great ideas - that's how I got mine so clean!

haha that's kinda what I thought you might have meant lol. I'll check that out, thanks! Ive got a lot of success out of the products I already used on this car, and it is a night and day difference, but theres just a couple of little annoyances that refuse to go away haha. Believe it or not, the white Bonneville I had was in worse shape when I got it. Her name was Sally, and I cleaned out 2 trash bags of garbage, 2 trash bags of cloths (and I'm talking the big black garbage bags!) and replaced the windshield cuz someone had thrown a brick in it, and spent 3 days cleaning and detailing the whole thing, and I had to put in a new transmission and brakes and plugs and wires and changed oil and replaced the intake manifold and starter and windshield wiper motor. I learned a TON from that car haha! My dad thought I was crazy spending so much time and money on it, but I bought it with 180k miles on it and sold it with 300k, so I got all my money and enjoyment out of it and then some lol!

FYI, believe it or not, this is THEE car that got me into Bonnevilles. My parents purchased this car when I was still in high school in 02 I think. I got my 1995 SSEi soon after when I headed to college.

I can attest to how filthy it was. It's sad that people can let their cars get that bad. The car was trashed by my brothers girlfriend who has been driving it the last couple years. My dad was going to just scrap it, but it looks like he found the time to replace the fuel pump.
