New Memeber Here

Post by Calplaya »

Hello all! Just stumbled on this site while looking at pictures of Bonneville's on Google Images. My heart is most fond of the 90s style Bonne's and then the 2000s up to discontinuation, but I love all of them. My first car was a gorgeous 1995 SE Bonneville, it had the pearl white paint that still shone and reflected like it was brand new even when I sold it 3 years ago with more then 300k miles on it. It had the tan leather interior, digital automatic climate control, premium sound system and CD player, premium snowflake rims, spoiler, sunroof and audio controls on the steering wheel among other options. Honestly, I have yet to see another SE Bonneville like it, and I miss it every day. Now I just got back into another Bonneville this week after searching and searching for the right deal. I work at a GM dealership and one of our mechanics had it up on the hoist on Saturday and I inquired about it and subsequently bought it. It needs some TLC, but nothing I cant handle. But it is a 1997 Dark Cherry SSEI Bonneville. Runs strong! It does need a new fender and mirror on the passenger side, a new front bumper and some massaging on the hood, but otherwise its straight. Tan leather again, but no sunroof :( I'll get the new parts on her here soon though and then paint it maybe red or black (I'm leaning towards black, if I knew I could trust myself doing it I would attempt a nice Black Cherry) and some nice snowflake rims painted black in the center with the aluminum shining on the outside. Eventually I'll begin supping up the supercharged 3800, but its pretty lively as it sits now. It just beat my buddies immaculate 1995 Cadillac Deville with the 4.9L V8 last night...twice! It has balls for sure haha, and who knows, it might rival my 1995 Camaro for power here one day too haha.

Alright guys, here she is in all her glory! Ok, only part of her glory, I have a lot of work left to do on this thing. I just spent 4 hours last night cleaning and detailing the interior trying to bring it back to life. I wish I would have taken more then one "before" picture of the interior tho, but it was TRASHED!

This was the nicest of the floors, and its bad haha.

All the leather and floors were so stained and dirty I wasnt sure I'd be able to save them, but take a look!

Still havnt gotten to the exterior yet, its gunna rain today so Im waiting for that to pass haha. But the paint has a sweet metalic to it that Im hoping I can really bring out with some TLC. Soon I will be getting a new front fender, bumper, mirror and having Mike out in our body shop massage the hood and the passanger fender and take off the rear bumper which is flaking paint and have him repaint it all for me. This is what Im starting with tho.

So, this is my foray back into the world of Bonnevilles, a 1997 SSEI. Im more fond of the 92-95s but I dont have a problem with this style either. It had just had a new fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel lines, tranny flush, engine oil changed, new spark plugs, new plug wires, new brakes, all done by one of our mechanics at the dealership, the one whom I bought it from. After doing all of that to it, he sold it to me for only $1000 bucks! STOLEN is more like it haha!
