2009 White Hot G8 GT

After months of searching, I finally found one. It belonged to a G8Board forum member who traded it at a GM dealer on a C6 Corvette. I recognized the car instantly when it showed up on AutoTrader, and went to see it the next morning. The rest is history! It was very meticulously maintained and has full documentation from day one.

It has 20x8.5 Breyton Race GTS rims in Matte Grey, a Solo V2 catback exhaust, and a Roto-Fab intake. It didn't come with the stock rims, but for the price I paid, I'd have been shelling out a lot more money for these mods anyway if I started with a stock car, and the stock rims would only be used for winter duty. I can get any stock or aftermarket wheel of my choice to run my snows on now... the hamster wheel is turning :bhuh:

Plans are pretty mild... most of what I wanted to do is already on the car. I had the dealer do 40% tint all around before I picked it up. I'll probably re-badge it and remove the Holden Calais V on the trunk, since most people (and myself) keep thinking it's a Cadillac V badge. The car came with a brand new set of "Pontiac" "G8" "GT" so its just a matter of putting them on. WeatherTech floor mats are on order (thanks PeterG!), and I will have to replace the door speakers at some point: the stock system blows. Performance wise, I'd like to have a mild tune (something still 87/89 octane comaptible) and/or headers. Oh, and a Retrofit Source low beam HID system too.

I need to get these off the car and get some proper winter tires on. There was barely half an inch of snow in my inclined driveway and the car became a beached whale.

Jerry! Holy crap! You're really building up a serious collection of awesome cars there!

I am hugely jealous.

Excellent pictures.

I probably won't join the G8 party (I think I'm going for an SUV next), but I sure am envious, they're sexy cars!

Old news

I can't wait to see this thing in person! Congrats Jerry, love the new ride!

On a side note... whoever buys your GXP will also be getting a VERY nice ride :)

Leave the "V" badge. It is considered royalty in the Holden world. Anyone who knows them, knows the coloring of the flag between a Holden "V" and a Cadillac "V" logos. ;)

I tried to contain myself until I picked it up, but couldn't hold back the excitement

I'll have to see about the V badge. If too many people start asking why I have a Cadillac badge on a Pontiac, it's coming off :P

Oh, you will. We even have Holden owners trying to ridicule others for having that badge, only to get egg on their face when we explain that, that is a legitimate badge from Holden, NOT a Cadillac.

Congrats, Jerry!! Looking good, and I love that color!! As I mentioned on FB, there are not many wheels that I've found that I like for the G8 yet, but those wheels do look good.

I think it's also good that you were able to get all the service records. I wish I could have gotten them, but mine was owned by a business man who did take good care of it, so I shouldn't have too much to worry about.

I guess I can figure, but what interior do you have? Is it the Onyx, like you wanted, or does it have the red inserts?

Anyway, lovin' that white!

Looks fantastic - what an awesome car. Great pics too - love those green garage door backgrounds.

Wheels are tasteful and go well with the color, and it's fun to see you got your dream car! I'm also curious to know which interior it has - you'll have to post more pics!

All Onyx. Didn't want the red inserts - I think they look better on a black or red car, but not on white. At the same time I also find them to be kind of boy-racer and not as mature as the G8 is.

I've parked the GT. I won't drive it until either the GXP sells or I get a set of winter rims/tires for it. What a tease :sadeyz:

You parked it?

That's like withholding sex from a supermodel because you don't have a condom.

Dude, seriously?

Same thing I did with mine. I only take it out on dry days, where the temps are at least 50 F. Jerry, I know what you're feeling, and that's why I can't wait for spring.

I agree with you on the red inserts, doesn't work on the white. At first I liked them, but as my searches continued, I started liking the all Onyx better.

Yeah, keep the car nice and safe til the evil winter forces cannot do any harm. In a way its kinda sad, it seems like you just got the gxp
