2005 Town & Country Limited

Well I can't really post about the van until I tell you why we got it.

Yes, we are expecting. No, a Bonneville won't cut it. Traveling with our dog and all our luggage just about maxes it out when we go on long trips. We knew we were going to get a van, we just weren't expecting to get one so soon. Back in early November I started browsing Craigslist for a steal. A few weeks later, this one popped up. 2005 Town & Country Limted in the Butane Blue Pearl. It has 190k on it, but has been super well taken care of and very clean. Only 2 owners and all the service records. Everything works as it should. It books at $8k, only paid $4k. I've put new tires on since these pictures, and also a new alternator because the alternator clutch pulley (learned all about them) had seized up.

Here are a couple pictures:

Looks really nice!

Of course, we will have to say it is a shame you didn't pick up a candidate for a L67 swap. You know, typical fanboy approach here.

Congrats! Welcome to the minivan club.

I had a 91 that had over 200k on it and loved every mile put on it. Always been a fan of those.

Also congrats on the new arrival in the future, let the fun begin of names and baby shopping!

It came with 215/60R16 bald tires when I bought it... and I was looking for a way to put a set of 235/55R17's on it. However, I found a nice nearly new set of 225/60R16's that fit the stock wheels nicely. The wheels are growing on me. I'd like a more custom look, but remember, its a minivan.

BTW, did you know those chrome wheels are actually chrome plated plastic glued onto aluminum wheels... from the factory?!

Does these vans use the 5x114.3 pattern? I have a set from my Maxima that are 18s with brand new tires. Something to ponder about.

Maxima is 5x114.3, but the hub centre bore is 66.1mm. That van needs 71.5mm. No dice. You could maybe have them drilled out but I'm not sure if its worth the effort.

Congrats on the life changes and the new purchase Andrew!

That is really common now a lot of the brand new vehicle.

If I have kids (doubt it), I will be the one driving the van.

Why?

I'm going to drive it like it is stolen. 100 MPH in the left lane, entering turns at 55 MPH and set new personal bests for highest on-ramp speeds.

The inside will be covered with vomit from the wife, 2.2 kids, and a dog.

Every time I take a road trip I try to take a T&C or a GC off the lot. Can't beat the ride, IMO. That one looks really nice in condition and options, and I've only heard good things about those 3.8s!!

My parents have the exact identical van! '05 Butane Blue Limited with gray leather, optioned identically. They got theirs in Duluth about 3 years ago at about 72k, have about 125k on it now. It's been great for them, and this is their 3rd long term Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth minivan they've owned ('89, '96, '05), all have been great. They went from a '96 3.3 that got 23-25 MPG highway, to this heavier more plush van with a 3.8, and get 25-27 MPG highway. Amazing. With the heated leather & thumping Infinity stereo, and all the other toys, I never mind that much if I have to borrow it either.....a stellar road tripping vehicle. And once you have Stow N' Go, there's no turning back.

If I had to choose any minivan, a T&C Limited would be top of the list. Looks like a great deal, and a very clean van for the miles. Congrats! Btw, is your wife's SSEi getting the boot then?

We aren't sure what's going to happen to her car yet. We'll probably hold onto it until my GXP is done... maybe.

Congrats Andrew!

Not the worst van ever made for sure. It's cool the front two windows have been tinted, so nobody will see who's driving. :P

Congratulations Andrew!

We waited until our second was coming to bite the van bullet. We've been pretty happy with our 07, though it does tend to be a little nickel-&-dimey compared to her old Grand Am.

Congrats. And nice van. Having driven a company (later purchased for myself) 2007 Grand Caravan from 9 miles till 159k miles, I loved mine for what it was. In that timeframe, it needed brakes twice in front, once in rear, a new battery, 3 sets of tires and AC blend servo. Stow and Go rocks.

I sure miss it and wish I hadnt sold it.
