I have a '98 Saturn SC2 showing a PO446 code.... This code is seen in other GM vehicles, so I thought I'd ask even though it's not a Buick/Olds/Pontiac. This is what I've done. I've replaced the gas cap, the vent control selenoid, the purge valve, the evap canister and I still have the 446 code that comes back during the day. I've also done a smoke test on the vac system and had no leaks shown anywhere. I've checked all lines for clogs and found none. I still persist with this DTC. What else am I missing. The only thing I've not done is go to the junk yard and get another ECM and swap it out.
Any help would be appreciated....this one is kicking me.
P0446 CEL Help
Re: P0446 CEL Help
A 10 second search showed 5 Saturn Forums out on the www. Despite being in the 'wrong' Forum, may we suggest: if your car uses the typical GM black nylon vacuum lines, they are infamous for having hidden cracks that leak only intermittently, or only under certain conditions (acceleration or deceleration with worn out engine mounts, while cornering, with broken/incorrect brackets, etc, etc).
Try smoke testing, while someone else physically moves every inch of the lines and hoses. Use a bright flashlight, some of the cracks are really difficult to find. And don't forget: any rubber elbows or connectors that 'look' OK, may actually be toast; take them off, and squeeze them good, everywhere.

Re: P0446 CEL Help
Sorry for being in the wrong forum..... I did try ALL those other forums and everyone had an idea of what they "thought" could be the problem....which did not pan out. Therefore, I just thought that'd I'd ask here for any additional ideas since the same issue was also dealt with on several of the 3800's I've dealt with. Thanks for your input, but I've already done what you suggested and no remedy was found to the problem.
