top end lagging?

it seems like once i get to 70-80 and i stomp it down it surges or lags, kinda feels like it does better if i lift the throttle a little... already did typical tune up stuff. any ideas?

Have you checked spark plugs? Does it feel like its kinda misfiring? I had a bad spark plug that was misfiring and it smelled like gas every time I floored it. Changed plugs, runs like new.

I was going to say a plugged cat until you said its better when you lift a little. It could be many things, TPS, MAF, coils, ICM, plugs, wires, etc...
Define typical tune up stuff.
Any codes?

tune up.... spark plugs (factory gm ones), wires, air filter... just the basics. I do have a code now its for the egr, ....could that cause a surge?
