Best option to fix busted driver's side mirror, glass only?

Post by torero500 »

Came out from work and there was mirror parts in the parking lot below the driver's side mirror. Someone must have swiped it and cracked the mirror and part of it fell out. It's a 2000 silver Bonneville. Half the mirror is still in the mirror frame, then it's just black plastic the other half. But the whole silver driver's side mirror frame is ok and not broken in any way.

What's the best way to fix this mirror? Looking online they sell black only driver side mirrors...not silver. Is is easy to pull the mirror from the frame, and just pop a new one in from an aftermarket black unit? Do they sell just the driver's side mirror alone?

I had this problem recently. Burco makes just the glass. I even managed to remove the heated element from the back of the old miror and place it on the new one(and it works!) The website has it, you can also order it from ebay!
