Can i use a 1996 Inst cluster in my 1994 SE?

Series I L27 (1992-1994 SE,SLE, SSE) & Series II L36 (1995-1999 SE, SSE, SLE) and common problems for the Series I and II L67 (all supercharged models 92-99) Including Olds 88's, Olds LSS's, Olds 98 91-96, Buick Lesabres and Park Avenue 91-96. Can i use a 1996 Inst cluster in my 1994 SE?
In picture they look the same.

I'm not positive, but I don't think so. I think the differenct PCM type will send signals that the cluster won't understand, but I could be wrong.

Plus the differences between OBD1 and OBD2 would also make for incompatibility issues.

Thanks for the reply guys!
Just wondering, I have seen used 92 - 95 cluster being offered for sale. I want to buy a 95 - 96 cluster. Seems to me there is a 1995 overlap. However, the sellers of these items may be wrong on the years they cover.

Anybody have anything a little more definate.

Also, I am trying to fix an odometer quit working after hitting a big bump (thank goodness everything else is ok).
How ard is it to fix the odometer?
